Man/Miracle – Don’t Waste It

No Comments 25 February 2011

Man/Miracle have premiered their new single ‘Don’t Waste It’ via CMJ.  Available digitally on March 1st via iTunes/Amazon/etc.

The Shape Of Things was the first to introduce us to the brilliant clash of early-90’s indie rock, California surf themes and the group’s inherent Oakland flare. And now, “Don’t Waste It” shows that the same concept has room to grow. The band may be transitioning from their introductory joyous and poppy sound into more dark and mysterious one, but this highly anticipated evolution that will certainly be exciting to hear.

A lot of hazy, stuttering electronic music is coming from the West Coast lately. The latest California knob-twiddler is Oakland sound engineer David Reep, who does his bleepy-and-bloopy thing as Elephant & Castle. Here’s a choice cut from his forthcoming EP, Analogue, out August 30 via 3rd Culture Records. (via Double Denim Records)

James and Evander have released a new mini-album entitled ‘Sunlight and Circuitry.’  From their press release:

Sunlight and Circuitry finds James & Evander wrapped inside their synthesizers and drum machines, exploring new territory while continuing to reference their long standing influences (Dntel, The Album Leaf, and Kompakt Records). Much of the EP was written and recorded in their West Oakland basement (dubbed “The Turtle Shell”) where the one corner window let in the sunlight that covered their scattered mess of keyboards, cables, and pedals.
